Accreditation, therefore, can be explained as the process of officially recognising a particular status/quality (to an institute) in order to perform a particular activity. It is an authenticating process by which the institute is evaluated so that it meets specific set of standards or criteria. It acts like a checking tool and makes sure that the institution keeps on improving their performance and results. The body which evaluates the institutions and recognise their status is known as ‘the accrediting body’.
